Ambassador Dave Kay Phillips Family International Lecture Series

Ambassador Susan E. Rice, U.S. national security advisor and U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations under President Barack Obama, will speak to the Duke community on Thursday, Aug. 27.

The Duke Program in American Grand Strategy's fall 2020 Dave and Kay Phillips Family International Lecture will focus on Rice's newly released memoir, "Tough Love: My Story of Things Worth Fighting for," as well as other current event topics.

The 6 p.m. virtual event is open to the public. However, advanced registration is required and space is limited.

Ambassador Rice's 25 years of public service and unique experience at the highest levels of the U.S. government afford her deep and rare insight into the current geo-strategic environment, political risk, emerging markets and leadership dynamics. She is also deeply versed in counter-terrorism, economic development and cyber policy, as well as U.S. government decision-making.
