Erika Litvin Bloom is a clinical psychologist and Behavioral/Social Scientist in RAND's Boston, MA office. RAND is a non-profit research institute. Dr. Bloom's research is focused primarily on development and evaluation of treatments for tobacco and other substance use disorders. She also has broad interests in increasing effectiveness, access to, and uptake of substance use treatment; weight management; digital health and health care technology; and health behavior change theory and processes. She is currently the Co-PI of a NIDA-funded Fast Track SBIR grant in which she is partnering with a small business on developing and testing a smartphone-delivered smoking cessation program with social gaming and financial incentive components. She is also the RAND site PI of an NIDCR-funded UG3 grant involving piloting and preparation for a future UH3 trial of nicotine replacement therapy sampling in dental practices. Dr. Bloom is a licensed psychologist in Rhode Island and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She was an Assistant Professor (Research) at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University from 2013-2019.
