Do you have questions about how Duke University's budget works, about its sources of revenue, how it pays for its extensive operations at all levels of the university and how it deals with financial challenges such as those posed by COVID-19? To get a better understanding of Duke's finances and to hear answers to these and related questions, faculty are invited to two sessions about Duke finances with Tim Walsh, Vice President for Finance and Treasurer.

Tuesday, July 7, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Session I: Overview of Duke University Budget
Tim Walsh will present an overview of the different components of Duke University finances and the various sources of revenues and expense obligations. Faculty will get a chance to learn first-hand about these critical areas of Duke's financial operations

Thursday, July 9, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Session II: The Impact of COVID-19 on the Financial Model of Duke University
Tim Walsh will discuss the budget models that Duke and its schools use to manage their revenue and expenses, and how the university is managing the financial challenges caused by COVID-19 and protecting its core educational and research mission.
