The Environmental Conflict Working Group (ECWG) is a student-run organization at Nicholas School of the Environment focusing on the intersection of conflict and environmental issues. Together with the Duke Africa Initiative, the ECWG has invited Dr. Edna Wangui, Associate Professor at Ohio University for a panel discussion, open to the entire Duke Community. Dr. Wangui¿s research focuses on the human-environment dimension of rural livelihoods in African countries, most recently examining the gendered consequences of climate, land use/cover and livelihood change among pastoralists in Africa's drylands.
