A $100,000 FLARE seed fund has been established to enable new collaborations between Duke and RTI in areas not currently funded. Attached to this email is the FLARE Request for Proposals with the complete details on applying for this seed fund. Proposals are due January 15, 2015.To facilitate the exchange of information and collaboration, the Fall 2014 FLARE Speaker Series will showcase three researchers known for their history of successful collaborations across a range of disciplines. They will present technical talks designed to start conversations among their fellow researchers on areas of mutual interest that could lead to collaboration and a FLARE proposal. Researchers at both institutions are encouraged to attend these talks, which will alternate between Duke and RTI, to meet potential collaborators and share ideas. to register: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FLARE_Fall2014
