Kenneth Belanger, PhD.

Kenneth D. Belanger, Ph.D. is one of our Duke UPGG alumni speakers for this academic year. Ken received his PhD from our program in 1996, working with Laura Davis on the structure of the yeast nuclear pore complex and its role in nuclear import and export. Ken is currently the Raab Family Chair and Professor of Biology at Colgate University. He has continued his research on the regulation of nuclear protein import and vesicle mediated secretion using yeast genetics and molecular biology. Ken is a gifted speaker, and dedicated teacher, and continues to publish high quality research with his Colgate University undergraduate students. Ken directs a program funded by HHMI to sponsor undergraduate research at Colgate. Ken will be a great resource for anyone interested in this career path. More information about Ken and his research and teaching can be found at http://www.colgate.edu/facultysearch/facultydirectory/kbelanger
