Dr. Roger Vilardaga is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Addiction Science and Technology at Duke University and Affiliate Professor at the Department of Human Centered Design and Engineering of the University of Washington. Dr. Vilardaga studied psychology at the Universitat de Barcelona and received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2014, he received a 5-Year Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. This Award provided training in user centered design and funded a 3-Year pilot randomized controlled trial to test the initial feasibility of the first NIH-funded smartphone app to deliver smoking cessation treatment for individuals with serious mental illness. From 2010 to 2015, Dr. Vilardaga served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science.
