Topics to be covered include: An introduction to Stata indows; looking at your data using browse, describe, codebook, list and count; manipulating your data; creating new variables and labels; basic cross-tabulation; using the Stata help menu. Important Commands: use, set, browse, describe, codebook, count, compress, list, sort, generate, rename, label, recode, tabulate, keep, drop, preserve, restore, save, help, (up/down arrow); working with STATA do files; appending, merging and reshaping data sets; various methods of importing and exporting data.Important Commands: append, merge, reshape, edit, insheet, infile, outfile, log, (ctrl-break).
