Global Ideas, Local Impact is the Duke Human Rights Center's annual celebration of human rights opportunities at Duke and in the world. The event, hosted by the Student Advisory Board, includes a Research Slam, where students present their human rights research conducted throughout the school year, and an alumni panel, where alumni working in different fields related to human rights share their experiences and advice about human rights work. Global Ideas, Local Impact will take place on March 27th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm in Holsti-Anderson Family Assembly Room (Rubinstein Library 153). Food will be provided.

James Tager, Duke University BA 2009, Harvard Law School JD 2013
James Tager is the deputy director of Free Expression Research and Policy at PEN America, where he manages the organization's research and advocacy surrounding free expression and press freedom domestically and internationally.

Damjan Denoble, Duke University BA 2009, University of Michigan JD/MA 2014
Damjan Denoble is an immigration attorney and civ-tech app developer. He works as the Executive Director at Mi Maletin, a legal organization helping pioneer the development of tech-supported immigration legal defense.

Karen Stauss, Duke University BA 1996, Columbia JD 2002
Karen Stauss is senior policy counsel for the US Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division's Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit.
