Dr. Panksepp is the Baily Endowed Chair of Animal Well-Being Science and Professor, Veterinary and Comparative Anatomy, Pharmacy, Physiology at Washington State University. He is also the Head of the Affective Neuroscience Research at the Falk Center for Molecular Therapeutics at Northwestern University.Talk Overview: Neuroscience has revealed some of the ancient sources of human emotionality by studying the brain of other animals. This knowledge is increasingly important for understanding how mind emerged in brain evolution. These insights can guide the development of new mind-medicines for psychiatry through the power of human knowledge rather than mere chance and serendipity.
