The Center for Documentary Studies, in partnership with The Hinge, is thrilled to present the second installment of "Professor Diablo's True Revue," an evening of art and performance at the Durham, North Carolina, club Casbah featuring writers, musicians, visual artists, and others who make extensive use of documentary fieldwork and research in the creation of their art. The inaugural performance played to a packed house in April.In "True Revue II," Professor Diablo offers a dramatic rendering of the classic John Sayles film "Matewan" in a performance about dark holes in the ground, strike busting, flooded valleys, and power, featuring acclaimed playwright Mike Wiley, Triangle roots music rockers Hiss Golden Messenger, and photographer Jeff Whetstone.Casbah, 1007 W. Main St., Durham, North Carolina. The event is technically FREE but admission to Casbah, a private club, requires a $3 membership or being the guest of a member.
