This event celebrates acclaimed photographer Harvey Stein's recent book and exhibit of the same name, now on view at CDS: "Coney Island 40 Years." Stein first went to shoot at Coney Island in 1970, never imagining that it would be the first of countless trips to the famous beachside amusements over the next four decades. The exhibit "Coney Island 40 Years" features black-and-white photos from Stein's most recent book as well as a small selection of color images from an earlier book. A visual document of an iconic American place that is rapidly changing, Stein's work is, in his words, "a meditation on time, history, persistence and longevity (of both Coney Island and myself), fate and public social behavior."RECEPTION AT 6PM; ARTIST'S TALK & BOOK SIGNING AT 7PM
