Duke Gardens Swing Dance

Enjoy this rare opportunity to dance on the gorgeous wood floor of the Doris Duke Center's Kirby Horton Hall. The dance will be preceded by a one-hour beginner lesson at 7 p.m., which is free with admission and open to people of all ages (16+). The lesson will provide you with basic moves that will serve you all night, as DJs play classic swing tunes. You don't need any dance experience, nor exceptional grace or stamina, nor even a partner--just enthusiasm. You may dress up or come in jeans, but please wear low-heeled, leather-soled shoes to protect your knees and our floor. Advance tickets $10; $8 for students & Gardens members, available through Friday, 11/9, at noon. At the door if tickets remain (cash or check only): $12 for all; $5 student rush.
