Winter Blossoms

Event Image
Saturday, February 02, 2013
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Brighten up your winter months with a planter of greenery and winter blossoms. You will create a planter with foliage plants, ferns and flowering bulbs. Then, using a glass sleeve, you will add woody flower stems to force into bloom. The stems may be changed out over the course of the winter to add continual flower. Participants will take home their creations in a 10-inch plastic nursery pot that may be displayed in a decorative container at home. Learn how to maximize your winter blossoms from two talented designers -- florist Neil Mendenhall, of the American Institute of Floral Designers, and Harry Jenkins, superintendent of Duke Gardens. Pre-registration required. Parking included. (919) 668-1707.
