Tango at the Gardens

Enjoy an evening dancing to classic tango music played by DJs in the elegant Doris Duke Center. The dance will start with a one-hour beginner lesson at 7 p.m. with Tangophilia's Jason Laughlin, which is free with admission and open to people of all ages (16+). The lesson will provide you with basic moves that will serve you all night. You don't need any dance experience, nor exceptional grace or stamina, nor even a partner, just enthusiasm. You may dress up or come in jeans, but please wear leather-soled shoes (no stilettos) to protect your knees and the floor. Advance tickets available through noon Thursday.
