Population, Health, and Environment in Africa: Coordinating Strategies A Week of Conversation at Duke University

PUBLIC SEMINAR: This event will explore Population, Health, and Environment (PHE) as an advocacy movement, a development strategy, and an academic field, with three goals: (1) discerning what would be required to develop a robust PHE program at Duke (and at other universities); (2) identifying the role that PHE is coming to play in guiding the funding strategies of foundations and aid agencies; and (3) determining the most fruitful intersections between the research and educational goals of a university-based PHE program and the role of PHE as a strategy for funding promising interventions.Monday¿s discussion will be moderated by a panel of three acclaimed international guests: Dr Alison Barbieri from Brazil; Dr Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka from Uganda; and Dr Wilfred Mlay from TanzaniaOpen to the public. Reception to follow.
