Maureen Cummins

Maureen Cummins, printmaker and book artist, will give a presentation about how she incorporates historical documents and photographs into her art. She is currently researching slavery in the mid-19th century United States for production of a limited edition artist book. Cummins is a recipient of a research grant from the John Hope Franklin Research Center for African and African American History and Culture. The Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture holds several of Cummins's previously published artists' books which will be on display. Light refreshments will be provided.
