"Love Stories": A Talk at CDS by Renowned Radio Journalist Alex Chadwick

Alex Chadwick, longtime National Public Radio reporter and host turned independent producer, will be at the Center for Documentary Studies on Monday, July 16, to teach at our annual summer audio institute, Hearing is Believing, and to give an evening talk that's open to the public; "Love Stories" will start at 7 p.m. in the CDS Auditorium.Alex Chadwick is an independent journalist whose distinctive work makes him one of the most recognized reporters in public radio. His current work involves a series of specials from the Public Radio Energy Project, BURN: An Energy Journal, carried on more than three hundred stations around the country. At NPR, he was a co-creator and host of Morning Edition and also hosted All Things Considered. As chief correspondent for the Radio Expeditions series from NPR and the National Geographic Society, he won the Investigative Reporting Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. Other honors include The Overseas Press Club for Outstanding Foreign Reporting (twice) and sharing in a Dupont Award for general excellence for Radio Expeditions. He has worked as a writer and feature reporter in network television (CBS, ABC, National Geographic), and for the online political magazine Slate.com, where his popular feature Interviews 50 Cents was named "must see" video by the New York Times.
