Envisioning the Invisible: Mahato Memorial Event Image and Photo Contest

The third annual Abhijit Mahato Memorial "Envisioning the Invisible" photo contest will take place in the Pratt School of Engineering to honor Abhijit Mahato, a graduate student who was killed near campus on January 18, 2008. This is an open event that invites any person to submit an image that either 1) makes the ordinary extraordinary or 2) shares the science and knowledge of an object through imaging. First ($1000), second ($500), and third place ($250) awards will be announced at a public reception November 7, 2012. In addition, a People's Choice ($250) award will also be awarded. This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Kellar Autumn, Professor and Chair of the Department of Biology at Lewis & Clark College who is best known for his discovery of the mechanism of adhesion of geckos.
