Compost Teas: Controversies and Use

Event Image
Saturday, December 15, 2012
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Jeff Lowenfels

Sorry, this class has been postponed until April 27, 2013. Actively aerated compost teas (AACTs), are easily made at home. Some insist they minimize your use of chemically based fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides, and rapidly build a healthy, productive soil. Others claim they don't work. Jeff Lowenfels, author of "Teaming with Microbes: The Organic Gardener's Guide to the Soil Food Web," will discuss the controversy and teach you how to create your own AACT compost tea so you can decide for yourself. Pre-registration required. Parking included. (919) 668-1707.
