Healing the Wounds of War

Our distinguished speaker for this free, public lecture is Linda Schwartz, DrPH, MSN, RN, USAF (Ret), FAAN. As Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, she is the first woman and the first nurse to hold that position. She is also Immediate Past-President and Chairman of Health Care for the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs. In 1989 she testified to the inadequate and unjust treatment she had received in the military and the VA system in a speech to the chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee and has since then testified many times before Congress.
