Lars Lyon Service Award

The Duke Community Service Center (CSC) bestows the Lars Lyon Volunteer Service Award upon one rising sophomore, junior or senior in April of each year. To receive consideration, undergraduates must have performed exemplary volunteer service while at Duke and be nominated by a member of the faculty, staff, or student body, or by a representative of a non-profit organization or public school in Durham. The recipient of the award receives a partial scholarship toward his/her tuition the following academic year.The CSC and the Duke University Office of Duke Durham Neighborhood Partnership (DDNP) also recognize the outstanding service of a university employee nominated by a representative of a local non-profit organization or public school. The non-profit nominating the outstanding Duke employee volunteer, receives a support gift from the university.
