Josh Diem, PhD
Global Health Exchange

Join us for a Global Health Exchange lecture, organized by Duke Global Health Institute. This event is free and open to the public so please spread the word to your colleagues and friends. Light lunch will be served. ABOUT THE LECTURE: Dr. Diem will present data that argues that while gains have and can continued to be made to improve health and educational outcomes for marginalized individuals and groups, in order for more significant gains to be made the two areas must be more explicitly connected to each, as well as the larger issue of poverty. We must engage in frank, systematic examinations of the widening income gap and how that relates to health and educational outcomes, and what the future implications are for a society with such disparities.
