A panel of Duke faculty, students, and staff will discuss the ways they engage in social media like blogs, Twitter, and Facebook, and offer their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of taking one's research and academic self online. Discussion will be framed and moderated by Duke University Libraries Coordinator of Scholarly Communication Technology, Paolo Mangiafico. This event is part of the Libraries' Managing Your Research workshop series. Panelists include: Gary Bennett, Associate Professor of Psychology, Global Health, and Medicine; Kieran Healy, Associate Professor in Sociology and the Kenan Institute for Ethics; Caitlin Margaret Kelly, Artist-In-Residence, Ph.D. Lab in Digital Knowledge,Graduate Art Fellow in the Kenan Institute for Ethics, MFA-EDA student and professional photographer; Robin Kirk, Faculty Co-Chair of the Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute; Ava Lowrey, MFA-EDA student and documentary filmmaker; Anton Zuiker, Director, Communications at Duke Department of Medicine and co-founder of ScienceOnline.
