Bero, PhD is a pharmacologist who studies how science is translated into clinical practice and health policy. She has developed and validated methods for assessing bias in the design, conduct and dissemination of research on pharmaceuticals, tobacco and chemicals. Professor Bero has also conducted analyses to examine the dissemination and policy implications of research evidence. Professor Bero serves on several national and international committees related to conflict of interest, research and policy. She is a member of the National Academies' Institute of Medicine Committee on Conflict of Interest in Medical Research, Education and Practice. Her international activities include advising the World Health Organization Department of Essential Medicines and Pharmaceutical Policies.Lecture Hall 2002 is one floor directly above the main lobby of Duke Hospital.
