Saturday, April 12, 2014
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

In honor of Earth Month, come join us for a fun community service activity each Saturday in April leading up to Earth Day. We will be predator-proofing lemur habitats, removing invasive plants from a rare plant preserve, and cleaning up a section of Ellerbe Creek (on canoes!) Dates: April 5th (12:30 pm - 2:30): Lemur Center Workday; April 12th (10 am - 12:30): Invasive Species Removal; April 19th (9:30 am - 11:30): Ellerbe Creek Cleanup. There will also be a FREE lunch for volunteers following each workday at a local Durham restaurant, where students will get a chance to eat delicious food, as well as talk to the food experts about food sustainability and other food-related issues. Transportation will be provided. Ready to get your hands dirty? Space is limited so sign up at http://bit.ly/NyORDI! Feel free to email aw207@duke.edu with questions/concerns. *For the Ellerbe Creep Cleanup, we will be cleaning up a section of the creek by paddling downstream on canoes and removing floating trash that is blocking the creek.
