2014 Music in the Gardens

The members of Plume Giant describe their sound as "orchestral music in dream-pop clothes." With backgrounds in baroque opera, music theory, and midwest vernacular, these three musicians play fifteen instruments between them. Poor Rich Boy, the Pakistani sonic counterparts of Brooklyn's Plume Giant, are known for their "energetic and pulsating live performances" (Pakistan Express Tribune). Poor Rich Boy appears at Music in the Gardens courtesy of Center Stage, a groundbreaking cultural diplomacy initiative that connects foreign artists with American communities through the performing arts. Shows take place rain or shine on the lawn behind the Duke Gardens Visitor Center. Lawn chairs, picnics & blankets encouraged. Food and drink available for purchase. Dogs are not allowed. Parking at Duke Gardens lots free after 5PM. Restrooms on site. Wheelchair accessible. Onsite box office open 6PM, doors at 6:30.
