Students are invited to join a conversation with Professor Joseph Blocher and Wade Penny '60, the young Duke lawyer who argued the case of Klopfer v. North Carolina before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1966. Hear about Penny's experience as a young lawyer arguing before the Supreme Court, the civil rights movement, Durham and Duke in the 1960's, and the U.S. Supreme Court's first significant interpretation of the Sixth Amendment's right to a speedy trial. This event is co-sponsored by the Duke Law American Constitution Society (ACS). If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Christine Kim (cik2@duke.edu) or Ana Apostoleris (ama64@duke.edu).
