Web App Series

Web Application Security is a growing concern, not only for the InfoSec community, but for developers, architects, administrators, researchers, and various other constituents of an organization. Emerging flaws in web and mobile applications are constantly being researched, both by hackers and by security professionals. Attackers today have an ever increasing number of easy-to-use tools at their disposal, which makes exploiting abundant web application weaknesses a trivial matter. We will outline recent web application vulnerabilities to demonstrate some of the attack tools and techniques used by both security professionals and attackers. Knowledge and understanding of these attacks and how to defend against them can improve the overall security posture of Duke and will be critical to those involved in the application development process. Lunch will be provided to those who pre-registered. Registration required.
