Organic Vegetable Gardening: Spring
A bountiful year will be yours with the information instructor Andy Currin shares in this class. Learn to maximize yield while planning for a sequence of seasons and minimizing maintenance. Strategies for dealing with summer heat, improving your soil and using water-wise methods will be discussed. Andy, an avid vegetable gardener and Duke University campus horticulturist, will also share information about providing habitat for beneficial insects and attracting native pollinators. Textbook provided for those beginning the series. Class series: 3 Wednesdays, March 11-25, 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 21, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Qualifies for Home Horticulture Certificate elective course, but participants need not be in the certificate program to register.
