Health Information Exchange Evaluation: The Case of CCHIE

Health information exchange holds the promise to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance care quality. It is critical for achieving interoperable health information and supporting the current transformation of the healthcare systems. However, numerous challenges exists and HIE initiatives cannot always accomplish their intended goals. This presentation describes the goals of HIE, explain the importance of HIE evaluation, and demonstrate how to evaluate HIE outcomes by using a real-world example.
