Duke University¿s Office of Civic Engagement (DOCE) has partnered with the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) to invite Lani Guiner, civil rights theorist and the Benett Boskey Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, to campus on September 9-10, 2015 as part of the Annual Civic Engagement Distinguished Lecture series.Duke will host a series of conversations about aspects of Professor Guinier¿s recent book, The Tyranny of the Meritocracy: Democratizing Higher Education in America (Beacon Press, 2015). The day-long program will include classroom visits, lunch with students, an informal discussion organized by OIE, a public conversation with a Duke faculty member or administrative leader and dinner with select faculty.
