Meet Jim Rogers at our kick-off Energy Mix

Jim Rogers, former CEO of Duke Energy and author of Lighting the World, joins us for the first Energy Mix of the academic year. Rogers, a Rubenstein Fellow at Duke University since September 2014 and Visiting Professor of the Practice at the Sanford School of Public Policy, will discuss his new book and his campaign to bring electricity to the 1.2 billion people in the world who now live without it, starting with the creation of the Energy Access Project at Duke University and his efforts to teach and mentor students on the topic. Lighting the World (St. Martin's Press) outlines Rogers' vision to provide power through innovative approaches, including local production, small-scale connections and renewable forms of energy. Rogers will be available until 6 p.m. to sign copies of his book, which may be purchased at the event. The Energy Mix is a monthly social and networking reception hosted by the Energy Initiative for students, businesspeople, faculty and other members of the local energy community.
