The presentation team will provide an overview of the mission and programs of the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation, Inc. in Tulsa, OK, Dr. Franklin¿s hometown. Established in 2008, the Center developed, built, and now manages the John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park. In addition, the Center sponsors an annual Dinner of Reconciliation, an annual Symposium on Reconciliation, along with an oral history research project on the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, a curriculum development project, a community dialogue series, and a Docent Program for the Historic Greenwood/Black Wall Street District. The Center¿s goal for this presentation is to spread awareness of the Center¿s existence and provoke conversation about future partnerships and projects with interested faculty at the John Hope Franklin Center at Duke University.The discussion is presented by the John Hope Franklin Center and the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation, Inc. A light lunch will be served after the event. Parking is available in nearby parking decks.
