[For Duke students only - go to DUKEDEMAN.COM to register] --> DEMAN WEEKEND MASTER CLASS: The Program in the Arts of the Moving Image's Master Class is led by award winning documentary filmmaker Kristi Jacobson '93, and will take place in Smith Warehouse, Room 228 (Bay 12). Jacobson will present excerpts from her work (including "A Place at the Table" (2012)) and talk about the current landscape of independent filmmaking, specifically nonfiction work and the balance of working on personal projects alongside commercial or commissioned work. / ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Kristi Jacobson '93 is an award-winning filmmaker whose work has screened in theaters across the US and internationally, at festivals including the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals and on networks including HBO, PBS, ESPN, ABC, CBS, A&E, Lifetime and Channel Four (UK). Her films include "A Place at the Table"; "TOOTS" (top documentary of 2007 - The National Board of Review); "American Standoff" produced by two-time Oscar winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple, broadcast on HBO's award-winning America Undercover series.
