The Archive Literary Festival

The Archive Literary Festival will kickoff Wednesday, April 6 with
"PROCESS, GENRE, AND SUCCESS", featuring Duke creative writing faculty - Faulkner Fox, Lori Carlson-Hijuelos, Priscilla Wald, Joe Donahue and Joe Porter, discussing process and interdisciplinarity of creative writing, and the definitions of achievement and success in the literary arts. Time & Loc: 7-8pm, Old Chem 116, Duke West Campus.

"SALON II", the second festival event, will take place Thurs, April 7, and is the second installment of the fall poetry salon; however, "SALON II" will be an open mic featuring a "to be announced" group of student poets. Time & Loc: 7-8:30pm in the Trinity Café, Marketplace Basement, East Campus. The festival will conclude on Tue, April 12 with a keynote by poet and former US Poet Laureate...

BILLY COLLINS. Collins was Poet Laureate of the United States from 2001 to 2003. He is a Distinguished Professor at Lehman College of the City University of New York, Senior Distinguished Fellow of the Winter Park Institute, Florida, a Literary Lion of the New York Public Library (1992) and the New York State Poet for 2004-2006. Collins' reading will be followed by a reception and book signing. Time & Loc: 8-10pm, Nelson Music Rm., East Duke Bldg., East Campus.

Refreshments will be served at all events. All events are free and open to the public.
