VFF: Good News and Bad News: Tracking Sentiment for the University of Illinois

Recent innovations in text analysis methods now allow us to measure and track people's opinions. This can be particularly interesting for Universities who aim to encourage gift giving while deflecting bad press when their scandals are reported in the media. I will discuss a project I completed for the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign in which I used data visualization to explore and describe changes in media coverage and news sentiment for the University over time.
