Invisible Children: Reimagining International Development at the Grassroots
Maya Ajmera MPP'93, president and CEO of the Society for Science & the Public, will discuss her new book, Invisible Children: Reimagining International Development at the Grassroots. The book explores innovative approaches that are being taken at the community level to give a voice to vulnerable children worldwide. Arguing that the existing global agenda for children has failed, the book reimagines how society can better invest in children living on society's margins.
Ajmera is a professorial lecturer at the Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. She founded and led for 18 years The Global Fund for Children, which invests in innovative community-based organizations serving the most vulnerable young people in the world. Refreshments will be provided.
