DVS Workshop: Graphic Design for Effective Diagrams

Event Image
Tuesday, January 24, 2017
9:30 am - 11:30 am
Eric Monson

Well-designed diagrams aren't just pretty; they convey information effectively by working in concert with human perception. The problem is that effective graphic design isn't intuitive - it takes some training that not many of us have had. The good news is that with a bit of guidance, we can quickly make large improvements in what we produce and recognize how to improve what we've created in the past. In this workshop you will learn a few core principles of good graphic design, some common visual metaphors for conveying your ideas, and practice visual brainstorming for more creative communication. There are no prerequisites, but you may want to compliment this workshop by taking the Adobe Illustrator workshop the following week!
