The Black Experience Abroad
Sponsor(s): Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture, Academic Advising Center (AAC), and Global Education Office for Undergraduates
Cost: Free
Interested in pursuing an international experience, but not sure what it might be like as a Black (African-American, Afro-Latino, African, etc.) student abroad? Maybe you're not Black, but you are curious what the experience is like for Black students. Study abroad deadlines are quickly approaching (Feb. 1 for Summer, and Mar. 1 for Fall), and to help inform your decision, Duke student panelists who have traveled, worked, volunteered, lived, or studied abroad will talk about their experiences. While we welcome all members of the campus community, this program is designed for students to have candid conversations with their peers. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served!
