The first part of this talk is an exploration of the way fear constitutes, or not, a world, depending on whether one's fear are accepted as legitimate. The second part explores the use of theatrical images to communicate the experience of fear. Lisa Stevenson is Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University. Her book Life Beside Itself: Imagining Care in the Canadian Arctic (University of California Press, 2014) won the 2015 Victor Turner Book Prize.
