10:30 am - 11:30 am

Join us for an engaging discussion with Alice Williams, MA'03, Senior Business Analyst for Lenovo's North America eCommerce group, a business unit that generates more than $500 million in annual sales. In this role, she incorporates web analytics, market intelligence and statistical models to identify and inform website optimization, targeted marketing efforts, and monetization of untapped opportunities. During this program, students will learn about the different types of careers available and the skill set it takes to work in the business analysis.

About Alice: Prior to this role with Lenovo, Alice worked as a user research and user experience consultant for industry and non-profit leaders including BB&T, First Citizens Bank, NC State University, and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. She has a diverse career that also includes work as a Policy Associate at an influential education think tank and Director of Marketing and New Media at a celebrity speakers bureau. Alice holds a MA in English Literature from Duke University, where she also taught writing. This education may seem like a disconnect from her career progression, but Alice credits her humanities training with two key essential dispositions - 1) A commitment to and proficiency in lifelong learning and 2) The ability to ask and investigate novel questions to generate innovative solutions.
