Jala: A journey through the senses of water. Robert Restrepo. 75min (2013-2016).
Nowhere like in the banks of the Ganges River is the identity between water and civilization so manifest, on the other hand, it is in its waters and the ecology around it that the effects of environmental degradation are more patent. Jala: A journey through the senses of water sheds light on this paradox, from Gaumuk to the Bay of Bengal, presenting traditional values and practices and their unequal struggle to meet the growing effects of climate change and ecological degradation.
Beyond what the Indians themselves can do, in less than a century the Ganges may disappear due to the increase in global temperature, and with the river, one of the oldest civilizations on Earth. | Thursday, March 30.
