Duke-Stanford Cardiovascular Research Symposium

The Duke Cardiovascular Research Center and the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute will host the Duke-Stanford Cardiovascular Research Symposium, May 21-23, 2017. The Symposium honors Robert J. Lefkowitz, MD, and Brian Kobilka, MD, who together received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2012. Attendees will experience the exploration of the latest research in cardiovascular signaling, regeneration, metabolomics and genomics, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and personalized medicine. There will be a personalized medicine segment, which will focus on a large study that is being done with Duke, Stanford, and Verily (the name for Google Life Sciences). One of the goals of this study is to collect the data that will define what it means to be in good health. This symposium is sponsored by the Edna and Fred L. Mandel, Jr. Foundation.
