we are (working to extend anti-racist education) Summer Camp: 3rd - 5th Grade Students

we are (working to extend anti-racist education), an affiliate of the Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity, will provide a space for 3rd - 5th grade students to explore their own identities and the identities of other students during the 2017 we are Summer Camp. we are aims to work with students to understand race, racism, and how together we can recognize and challenge racist practices. Using literacy based strategies and hands-on activities, kids will be engaged in a number of learning experiences related to promoting anti-racism. The goals of the camp are to:

- Foster healthy racial identities in youth
- Build a historical understanding of race and racism
- Equip families with tools and resources which extend anti-racist practices in the home and community

The camp will take place at Central Park School for Children located at 724 Foster Street, Durham, NC. Registration per camp is $250 and scholarships are available.
