"Imaging neurons to understand the brain"

Event Image
Thursday, May 01, 2014
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Karel Svoboda, PhD, Group Leader, Janelia Farms, Howard Hughes Medical Institut
The Lawrence C. Katz Memorial Prize Lecture

Karel Svoboda's lab is dissecting the functional connectivity of neocortex underlying perception and decision, as well as searching for the neural substrates of experience-dependent learning in the developing and adult neocortex. His work employs optogenetics, two-photon calcium imaging, and electrophysiology to examine the dynamics and functions of neural circuits in awake-behaving mice.
