Burning Hametz and Eating Bagels

Big day on Monday. Fast of the First Born, Passover, 1st Seder, and the last chance to eat bread for a week!Monday morning is the last time we're able to eat Hametz before Passover begins. So why not go out big and do it with a bagel breakfast - especially one that you don't have to pay for! Traditionally the day before Passover is a day when first born children fast in memory of the tenth plague - unless of course they're attending a Siyyum (festive meal held at the completion of a course of study) that morning, in which case they eat and celebrate. Monday morning at the Freeman Center for Jewish Life Rabbi Jeremy will finish a course of study and you're invited to the Siyyum where we will enjoy our last bagels until after Passover ends. We even have permission from fire safety to burn Hametz outside, so if you bring your paper wrapped hametz we'll throw it on the fire! We'll start right around 10:00 am so we hope to see you then. Please RSVP before 7:00 AM Monday the 14th to make sure that we have enough bagels for all who want to come!As a public service announcement, the latest time one is allowed to eat Hametz on Monday is 11:05 am. If you still need to sell your Hametz, please speak to Rabbi Jeremy!
