Embark - Day of Prayer and Fasting

Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray before embarking on his public ministry. We are about to embark on another academic year at Duke and want to spend not 40 days, but one special day in preparation.Do you believe in the transforming power of prayer?Does fasting heighten your sensitivity to the presence of God and others?Is Duke University and the people who are associated with it special to you?If so, take this day seriously and embark with us on a one day journey into the desert. Embark is a program to prepare the Duke Catholic Center community for the coming academic year. By uniting Catholic Duke students, parents, alumni and friends all over the world in prayer and fasting on this day, we believe that we will set a tone for the coming year that we are open for the work that the Holy Spirit will do in us.
