Prayers

Jummah (Friday) prayers are held every week on campus when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. Jummah is a congregational prayer (salaat) that Muslims hold every Friday around noontime. Khutbas (sermons) are led by a variety of individuals throughout the year, including Imam Abdullah Antepli, Imam Abdulhafeez Waheed, students, faculty and invited guest speakers. Sisters can have their Khutbahs read by any male. If you are interested in writing and/or delivering a Khutbah this semester, please contact Zohair Zaidi (zohair.zaidi@duke.edu). All are welcome to attend and observe. After prayer services, the community gathers together to socialize over lunch offered by Muslim Life at Duke. Jummah is a wonderful way to catch up with friends and meet new members to the Duke Muslim community.
