Informatics Research Seminar

Abstract: Disruptive technologies are pervasive. The concept persists that one clever idea can change decades of entrenched dogma, leading to new practices and big profits. Not as welcoming of disruptive change as the marketing and finance sectors, healthcare has largely resisted major tech-driven revolutions. However, resistance is futile, as research and the bottom line require data science advancements made possible by new technologies. This presentation will examine the trends of big/data science and advanced analytics as well as the technology, services, and education needed to create value from disruptive technologies present and future.
